Two nights, two days
Two nights out, and no roof on either of them
- Thar desert
- 2 nights, 2 days
- Open sky, both nights
Your night
Desert Life Adventure Safari, hour by hour.
The Luxury package without the tent and without the programme. Two nights on the sand, every meal cooked on a fire, and a middle day you spend however you want. It is the longest anyone stays out here without it becoming an expedition.
Day 1, 2:00 PM

Jeep pickup
From your hotel or a point you name, then out through the dunes.
Day 1

A village on the way
A stop to see desert village life and hear the history of the people who live it.
Day 1

Forty minutes by camel
The last stretch to the camping ground, with snacks and water on the way.
Day 1, sunset

Sunset from the camel
You arrive as the light turns. Snacks and water on the way in.
Day 1, evening

Dinner on the fire
Rajasthani food cooked over a large campfire and eaten in the open desert.
Day 1, night

Under the open sky
You sleep outside. The sky out here is the reason to do this.
through the night
Day 2, morning

Breakfast, then your call
Then the whole day is yours: a camel trek, a jeep safari, the monuments, or a long walk and nothing else.
about 13 hours later
Day 2, evening

Another fire, another dinner
Cooked in the desert over an open flame, same as the night before.
Day 2, night

Out under the sky again
The second night is the same as the first. No tent on this trip at all.
through the night
Day 3, 11:00 AM

Back in Jaisalmer
Breakfast, then dropped back in town.

Where you sleep
Both nights on the sand

If two nights in the open sounds like one too many, the Luxury package puts the second night in a Swiss tent.

Photos
Taken out there, on trips like yours.
Our own pictures and our guests’. Nothing here is a stock photograph of somebody else’s desert.
Getting there
Jaisalmer first, then we take over.
Getting to Jaisalmer
Trains run overnight from Delhi and Jodhpur into Jaisalmer station, and buses come in from Jodhpur, Bikaner and Udaipur. The station and the bus stand are both about ten minutes from our hotel on Fort Road.
Then
We collect you from the station, the bus stand or your hotel. Leave your luggage with us, use a room and a shower, and go out with nothing you do not need.
Where we are
Fort Road, Dhibba Para
Jaisalmer, Rajasthan 345001
The camp itself
About 40 km out, on the Siala and Damia dunes.

The things people ask before they book.
Is there a washroom?
No. Two nights at an open camping ground means two days without plumbing. There is a shower at our hotel when you get back.
What is there to do on day two?
Whatever you ask for at breakfast — camel, jeep, monuments, or nothing at all. Snacks and water are always out, and every meal is cooked over the fire.
Is there a cultural programme?
Not on this one. If the folk music and the buffet are the part you want, take the Luxury package or the Sunset Cultural day trip.
This costs more than the Luxury package. Why?
That is how it is priced on the old list, and we have published both as they stand rather than quietly change one. Ask before you book and we will confirm both prices for your dates.
The other ways
Not this one?
Every trip we run goes to the same desert. What changes is how long you are out, what is over you at night, and whether the folk programme is in it.
Still deciding
Tell us who’s coming.
How many of you, which nights, and whether anyone needs a washroom a few steps away rather than a dune. We will tell you which trip actually suits you, including when the answer is none of them.
